Normally it is not painful although you can feel irritation of your gums, sometimes you will notice bleeding, bad breath or loose teeth.
You can check for these signs: visible plaque on your teeth on any surface (usually on the inside of lower incisors or on the outside of upper molars); redness and swelling of your gums. When the gums are healthy they have pinkish color and are well adapted to the surface of your teeth. Anyways the best way to know if you have it – is to see your dentist.
It can be painful if the treated area is not anesthetized. In Clínica Monteblanc this treatment is performed only with anesthesia. After the treatment some irritation can be noticed but it goes away in 1-2days.
It absolutely depends on the condition of the disease because many times only some specific areas of the mouth are affected by periodontitis. The price can vary from 90eur per area to 400eur if it is a full mouth periodontal treatment.
