The composite is not harmful to your teeth, it does not damage them. Normally the preparation of the teeth is minimally invasive, which means that the treatment is not agressive at all. Most of the times composite veneers strenghen the structure of your teeth.
Ceramic veneers are produced in a dental laboratory and then permanently cemented on the teeth in a clinic. It requires 4-5 appointments and meanwhile the patient wears provisional veneers. Normally it takes up to 1 month to get them done.
Ceramic is a very strong and very aesthetic material, but does not require more maintenance than your natural teeth. You need to have excellent oral hygiene and avoid biting veryy hard objects (for example bones). In case of chipping a porcelain veneer cannot be fixed, it has to be removed by drilling and a new veneer has to be placed. Normally porcelain veneers maintain the aesthetics and function up to 10-15 years or more.
This treatment requires comprehensive knowledge of dental aesthetics and oclusion, thourough analysis of the bite and accurate treatment plan.
